God-tier response (kami taiou)
Overview
A god-tier response (kami taiou) is a slang term for a wonderful response that goes far beyond what anyone expected. Kami ("god") is used as a prefix meaning "the best" or "unbelievably good." The opposite is a salty response (shio taiou), which refers to a curt, cold response.
It is used in a wide range of situations, such as how idols treat their fans, customer service, customer support, and exchanges on social media. What these have in common is the surprise and delight of thinking "I never expected them to go this far."
God-tier responses in a question box
Answers in a question box that get called god-tier tend to share the following. First, they read the intent of the question accurately. They answer exactly what the sender really wanted to ask. Second, they give more information than expected. They offer value beyond what was asked. Third, you can feel their respect for the sender. They take every question seriously.
A god-tier response isn't only a matter of special talent. You think seriously about "what does this sender want to know?" and pursue "what is the best answer I can give?" Building up this attitude over time is what sometimes ends up being called a god-tier response.
You can't give a god-tier response every time
God-tier responses get praised because they are "not normal." If you were expected to give a god-tier response every time, the person answering could wear out. Giving your all to every question is possible in the short term but hard to keep up in the long term.
Answering light questions lightly and giving your all to questions that touch your heart helps you keep a question box going. One god-tier response in 10 stays in the sender's memory and leads to a reputation that "this person's question box is fun." God-tier responses shine because ordinary responses exist.
