Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 30, 2026

Q drop ("the Site") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains the information the Site collects and how it is handled.

Information We Collect

The Site may collect the following information to provide and improve its services.

  • Authentication information required to create and manage a question box (email address)
  • The content of submitted questions
  • The content of posted answers
  • Access logs (IP address, browser information, access date and time, referrer URL)
  • Settings stored through standard browser technologies

Questions are submitted anonymously, but to prevent abuse, the asker's IP address is shown to the owner of the question box. IP addresses are stored in encrypted form and are not disclosed to any third party other than the owner.

Push Notification Subscriptions

If a question box owner turns on push notifications, the Site stores the subscription information issued by the browser (the push service endpoint URL, encryption keys, and the timezone offset used to avoid late-night delivery) on its servers. This information is used only to deliver notifications and is deleted when you turn notifications off or when the subscription expires or becomes invalid.

Push notifications contain only fixed-format messages with a question category chosen by automated machine processing from a predefined vocabulary, plus numeric details such as character counts and unanswered counts. The text of the question is never included in a notification.

How We Use Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes.

  • Providing the question box service (sending and receiving questions, publishing answers)
  • User authentication and account management
  • Filtering inappropriate content
  • Analyzing usage and improving the service
  • Preventing abuse

Use of Browser Technologies

The Site uses standard browser technologies to improve the user experience and analyze access. You can disable these technologies in your browser settings, but some features may no longer work correctly. When your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, the Site does not load analytics and delivers only non-personalized advertising.

Some features - such as "My question log", which keeps copies of the questions you sent - store settings and records only in your browser's on-device storage (localStorage). This data is never sent to our servers. You can delete it at any time using the delete buttons on the relevant page or by clearing your browser data.

Use of Third-Party Services

The Site may use services provided by third parties to provide and improve its services.

  • Analytics tools: used to understand how the Site is used and to help improve the service
  • Advertising services: the Site may use third-party advertising services, which may collect browsing information to display more relevant ads
  • Authentication services: an external authentication platform is used for user login

Advertising

The Site may use advertising services provided by third-party vendors, including Google. These third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to the Site or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to the Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

If you prefer not to receive personalized advertising, you can opt out of personalized ads in Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Disclosure to Third Parties

The Site does not provide collected information to third parties except in the following cases.

  • When there is a disclosure request based on laws and regulations
  • When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a user
  • When providing it to subcontractors within the scope necessary to operate the service

Information Management

The Site implements appropriate security measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of collected information. Data is sent and received over encrypted connections, and access controls prevent unauthorized access.

Changes to This Policy

The Site may revise this Privacy Policy as needed. When changes are made, the revised content and the last updated date will be posted on this page.
