Cold-but-sweet personality (tsundere)
Overview
Tsundere refers to a personality or behavior where someone usually acts curt and cold (tsuntsun) but shows kindness or affection (deredere) in certain situations or toward certain people. It spread as a word for a character type in anime and similar media, and it's also used as slang for the personalities of real people.
The appeal of tsundere lies in the "gap." Kindness from someone who's always kind feels like a given, but kindness that a usually curt person shows once in a while feels strong because of that gap.
Tsundere answers in a question box
Tsundere as a question box answering style has a unique appeal. Someone usually gives cool, sharp-tongued answers, but once in a while gives a warm, heartfelt one. This gap can win over followers.
"Figure that out yourself... well, I'll answer anyway." "It's not like I'm happy about it, but thanks for the question." Tsundere answers like these tend to stick in people's memory more than simply saying "thank you." However, if the tsun part is too strong, you just look like a cold person, and without the dere part, you come across as simply unpleasant. Balance is everything.
Tsundere isn't a persona you put on
"Playing" a tsundere character in a question box is hard to keep up. If you force yourself to act tsundere as a persona, it's tiring, and the act may slip. The appeal comes from people who are naturally a bit tsundere answering just as they are.
What matters is finding your own natural answering style. If tsundere comes naturally to you, be tsundere. If you're always kind, stay kind. If you're high-energy, stay that way. There's no right answer when it comes to question box answering styles. Being yourself becomes your strength.
